Parent-to-Parent Program
Caritas, Inc. is pleased to announce it will continue the critically important Parent-to-Parent gatherings this summer in Newport, RI. With the support of local foundations, Caritas is continuing its prevention program, called Parent-to-Parent in Aquidneck Island. This on-going prevention program will begin Tuesday, June 17 and will be held at Caritas' Middletown office at 1341 West Main Road, Suite 14. The program will be led by parent volunteers who have been there and know the anguish of facing and dealing with their adolescent's substance abuse. Every Tuesday, from 6-8pm, parents are invited to come in for our free Parent-to-Parent sessions. Here they can listen to other parents discuss what they went through, offer some advice and help answer questions. The last Tuesday of every month will feature an expert including emergency room doctors, drug court representatives, high school officials, state police and other experts. Every Thursday, from 6-8pm, by appointment ony, parents will be offered free, half hour confidential sessions to discuss their own personal circumstances. A Parent-to-Parent 24 Hour Hotline has already been established for those in need, (401) 489-1419.

2008 Golf Tournament
Beautiful weather marked another Caritas Annual Golf Tournament at Richmond Country Club. June 2nd held sunny skies and a slight breeze marking a perfect day for our golfers. The team of Dennis Wyatt, Fred Wyatt, John McMahon and Frank Geary won the tournament by a single stroke over the team of Tom Vilella, Dave Marrow, Don Belrose and Ken Horbit. Again this year there was no winner on our $10,000 prize hole. Caritas wants to again thank our sponsors, all the people and companies that purchased tee signs, the players and volunteers for making this the best tournament we've had in many years. We also want to thank Crystal Springs in Middletown for the donation of the bottled water for our players. For information on our sponsors, please clink on their logos below. Sponsored by:
